Acer Laptop Review
Acer is ranked number 4 as one of the best computer manufacturers in the United States. Every year, it launches new products and one laptop that is worth checking out is the Acer Aspire 9500.
It isn’t too heavy since this weighs about 8.4 pounds and already comes with Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition.
The Aspire 9500 Acer laptop is very useful both for business and for pleasure. It has a TFT LCD screen measuring 17 inches with WXGA CrystalBrite display. This gives the viewers amazing picture quality and image clarity of 440 x 900 pixel resolution thanks to the ATI Radeon X700 graphics.
Audio is also excellent as this uses S/PDIF and MS Sound components that also come with a subwoofer and two integrated 2.1-channel stereo speakers and stereo microphones.
You can even edit a movie when you add the Acer Arcade or Windows Media Center editions then burn it by using either a DVD/CD-RW optical drive, a dual-layer DVD writer or the integrated variable-speed DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive which does just about everything.
You don’t only get to edit or watch movies with this machine because this can be turned into a television by using an integrated or analog TV tuner together with a DVB-T digital antenna. This means after work, you can sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
You can choose from the Intel Centrino or the Intel Pentium M (760) mobile technology as your processor to provide you with better battery duration and wireless connectivity.
Going wireless is never a problem via the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG that is compatible with Acer Signal-Up technology. Most users are content with the Conventional Ethernet Connectivity that allows you to upload or download stuff at 100Mbps but Acer uses Gigabit Ethernet that is ten times faster at 1000Mbps.
It also has the DDR2 533MHz or 400MHz memory, which makes it easy for the user to have different operations run simultaneously even when this is hooked up with other external devices.
Most Acer laptops come with 40GB of hard drive storage. If you think this is not enough, the 9500 series has 120GB and 2GB of memory.
Other features that you get from the Aspire 9500 is that it comes with 5 USB 2.0 ports, PCMCIA card slot, a 5 in 1 card reader, ExpressCard port, IEEE 1394 slot, Infrared port, CIR slot, VGA port, S-video/TV-out, and an Ethernet slot. This allows you to receive information from your cell phone or other devices.
The Acer Aspire 9500 series laptop is just one of the many products that this company has produced over the years. Launched in 2005, you can still get this by visiting the Acer website or from other retailers in the neighborhood or online.
It is the first that comes with eDataSecurity Management that is an file encryption utility to protect your files from being accessed by unauthorized users. Computer users are told to have a backup file around in case the system crashes. The unit has eRecovery Management that will do this so you don’t anything to worry about.
Acer has once again done a great job once again by coming out with a model that is useful for everyone such as the Aspire 9500. There are other models you can check out simply by visiting its official website, reading PC magazine or checking what is available in store shelves.
